Welcome to the Cattaraugus County Music Teachers Association Website!

The Cattaraugus County Music Teachers Association is a county branch of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) and the the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). CCMTA is made up of 10 school districts, 39 music educators and features hundreds of talented student musicians each year through festival performances.

CCMTA provides musical opportunities for students by hosting festivals for individual musicians, as well as participation in instrumental and vocal ensembles. Every January, we host an annual solo festival, as well as a scholarship audition festival for students to display their individual talents and skills. In March, we host two All-County festivals. Festival 1 features Elementary Chorus, Junior High Band, and Senior High Chorus. Festival 2 features Elementary Band, Junior High Chorus, and Senior High Band. These festivals help enrich the music education and musical opportunities of students in Cattaraugus County.

Two Students Selected for 2025 NYSSMA Conference All-State Mixed Chorus

We are proud to announce that two outstanding students from our county were selected for the prestigious 2025 NYSSMA Conference All-State Mixed Chorus—one of the most competitive and highly regarded high school ensembles in New York State. Earning a place in this ensemble requires exceptional musical skill, top-tier NYSSMA scores, and a dedication to excellence that sets students apart from hundreds of applicants statewide.

At the All-State Festival, Isabella Wilder (Ellicottville) and Lokesh Anumalasetty (Olean) students represented their schools and our county with remarkable professionalism, musicianship, and pride. Their achievement reflects not only their hard work, but also the strong support of their teachers, families, and school music programs. Congratulations to these talented young musicians!
